Nelson Lakeside Park

Amenities

Located in the heart of downtown, Nelson Lakeside Park is on Long Lake and features a public boat launch, fishing pier, rack for canoe storage (contact the City Clerk to check for availability, Long Lake residency required), a swimming beach, a picnic shelter with tables, grills and picnic tables around the park, playground equipment, a disc golf course, and is home to the Long Lake Veterans Memorial.  The picnic shelter may be reserved - download the Park Facility Use Permit application form.  Please call the City Clerk at 952-473-6961 x1 in advance to check for date availability.  Please note that reservations will not be booked for evening hours after 8:30 pm, unless by special event permit (i.e. festivals such as Buckhorn Days).

Swimming Beach

The public swimming beach at Nelson Lakeside Park is open during park opening hours.  No lifeguards are on duty, and swimming is at your own risk.  Please note that dogs are not allowed to swim in the swimming beach area.
